Zarokh, the Temporal, is the Final Boss of the Trail of the Sekhemas mechanic in Path of Exile 2, defeating either him or Trailmaster grants the last 2 points for your Ascendancy. This guide will go over his attacks and abilities.
In Path of Exile 2, certain attacks must be dodged, indicated by the boss flashing red and an accompanying sound cue. These attacks and abilities are highlighted in bold with the text (Requires Dodge) throughout this guide.
Abilities
Zone: Trail of the Sekhemas, floor 4, last room.
Damage Type: Physical.
- Tosses whirling boomerangs that return to him.
- Special Attack: Orbs and Portals
- Zarokh opens the 8 portals on the sides of his arena while firing volleys of slow moving orbs. The orbs can travel through these portals and appear on the opposite portal on the other side of the arena. Note: The lower Zarokh health gets, the more orbs he spawns. Minions, totems and walls get hit by these orbs.
- Special Attack: Temporal Orb (Requires Dodge)
- Zarokh fires a slow moving orb with a circle around it that slows you.
- Special Ability: Lightning Tendrils
- Zarokh, the Temporal, teleports to the center of the room and spawns multiple Temporal Traps around the arena, which stuns you for a few second if you step on them. He then begins firing multiple Tendrils while rotating counterclockwise. Note: at about 50% health, Zarokh, the Temporal, will spawn Temporal Traps periodically throughout the fight.
- Intermission: Time Trial
- Zarokh disappears and the center of the arena lits up. Once players walk into the center of the arena, a clock appears and several hourglasses are spawned. Once the timer commences, you have until a full rotation of the clock to collect all the hourglasses. You will gradually become slower during this mechanic. Failing to collect the hourglasses in time will provoke Zarokh to appear and kill the player. Zarokh triggers this mechanic at 60% and 30% health.
Note: This part of the fight is where most new players die. The key is to plan your pathing to the hourglasses, having good movement speed, using Blink and/or having “Hare Foot” Boon to move around faster, as well as avoiding the “Worn Sandals” affliction. This all can make this intermission easier.
- Special Ability: Temporal Rewind
- Zarokh, the Temporal, creates a clock that winds backwards before teleporting the player to the oldest mirage and exploding the rift. Note: Similar to the traps found on throughout the 4th floor.
- Special Ability: Temporal Pylons
- Zarohk throws multiple pylons that orbit around the arena. Note: these pylons’ movement is a bit inconsistent.
