In Case You Didn’t Know: There is a Stun Threshold Bar in PoE2!

A post on the Path of Exile 2 subreddit just blew up – and for good reason. Turns out, many players had no idea the game has a heavy stun threshold bar… until it killed them.

Stun Bar - Path of Exile 2

The Reddit post quickly gained traction, with hundreds of surprised commenters admitting they never noticed it either. Some even checked old screenshots to confirm it was not a recent addition.

  • The bar only appears while riding the Rhoa mount or actively blocking/parrying with a shield.
  • It tracks heavy stun, not regular stun – if it fills up, you are going down.
  • On Rhoa, the bar does not decay unless you dismount. With shield/parry, it resets if you stop taking hits.
  • It is currently located at the bottom of the screen, blending into the UI, especially on ultrawide monitors or for players with visibility challenges.
  • Reaching full threshold = guaranteed heavy stun.

Even though this is a core mechanic for tank-style builds, most players said they either never saw it, or could not track it during combat. There is also no visual or audio cue, unlike the red screen effect for low health, which makes it rather easy to miss until it is too late.

The community is now calling for:

  • The bar to be moved above the character (where you can see your health/mana).
  • Customizable colors, contrast, or UI placement.
  • A proper indicator when you are close to stun.
  • A way for the stun bar to decay naturally while mounted – similar to how it works when you stop blocking with a shield. Being forced to dismount just to reset it feels clunky.

As one player put it:

“This is a bigger discovery than ancient fossils. 1000+ hours, and I NEVER saw it. WTF.”
