Introduction

With the sweeping balance changes to every system coming in Patch 0.2, it is nearly impossible for us to have confidence in existing, well tested guides. While we will do our best to get these updated as soon as possible, their current state may leave them unusable. Make sure to regularly check back to see if any changes have been made.

The Endgame Titan is a powerful build that scales damage for Stampede to clear general mobs and Hammer of the Gods for the high life monsters. This setup uses 2-handed Maces and focuses on being extremely tanky with lots of Strength, Life, and Armour.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Strengths
  • Extremely tanky
  • Well-rounded
  • High boss Damage in Late Game
Weaknesses
  • Stampede is Clunky
  • Slower Clearspeed Class

Build Mechanics

The core play of this build in the late game is running through maps into clusters of monsters with Stampede for explosions to clear any general mobs. For any extremely tanky Rares or bosses, Infernal Cry into Hammer of the Gods can one-shot many of them as a finisher. Sunder can be used in between Hammer of the Gods uses during cooldowns or for Rares as well.

Skill Rotations

Follow the quick skill rotation below to progress through the campaign and clear groups of enemies in maps.

  1. Stampede to clear general mobs.
  2. Use Ancestral Warrior Totem to break Armour of Rares.
  3. Sunder or Hammer of the Gods on Rares, as Stampede does not do much damage against them.
  4. Leap Slam for mobility between packs if necessary.

Execute the steps below to optimize damage against bosses.

  1. Place an Ancestral Warrior Totem down.
  2. Cast Infernal Cry.
  3. Drop a Hammer of the Gods and watch as most Bosses get 1-shot.
  4. If necessary, use Sunder for additional damage until Hammer of the Gods is off cooldown.

Gameplay Tips

  1. Stampede and Earthbreaker will get you to 100% chance for Aftershock, which helps a lot for clearing the trash mobs.
  2. Leap Slam is a great way to get out of tricky situations if your character is getting stuck.
  3. Time of Need with a lot of recovery can be very helpful to sustain in mapping.
  4. Make sure to cap Resistances and push for as high of Armour and Life as possible.
  5. Clarity can be used on Herald of Ash or Time of Need if having mana issues.

Skill and Support Gems

The main two Skills for this build are Stampede and Hammer of the Gods. There are plenty of Skill Gem setups viable so do not feel an exact need to copy.

The following Support Gems are listed in order of socket priority for each Skill.

Spirit Gems

The Spirit Gem setup requires 100 total Spirit. Completing bosses in Normal and Cruel difficulty in the campaign rewards 100 base Spirit so there is no need for additional. That being said, if you want to run Herald of Ice as well then you can either remove Combat Frenzy or look for more Spirit elsewhere.

Ascendancy

Titan works really well with this build to increase our Aftershock chance of Stampede to 100% while also boosting our survivability.

The order for picking nodes is as follows:

  1. Earthbreaker – 20% Chance for Slam Skills to cause Aftershock gets us to 100% on Stampede, enough said!
  2. Mysterious Lineage – Survivability of the node plus Life Regeneration is a simple boost to the character.
  3. Colossal Capacity – Increased Inventory is great but the next node is the main reason for choosing this node.
  4. Hulking Form – 50% Increased effect of Small Passive Skills is huge and a massive stat boost for the character. As you level it will only keep getting stronger.

Path of Building is a fantastic community-made tool that lets you see how any change you make to your characters skill tree, gear, or skill gems will impact you. If you haven’t used POB before, you can find a useful beginner’s guide here.

Gear

The preferred gear for the “Build” is listed below with affixes ranked in order of importance. Prioritize gear with the correct base stats and beneficial explicit affixes.

SlotAffixesNotes
Main Hand1. Increased Physical Damage
2. + to Level of All Melee Skills
3. Added damage (physical)
4. Increased Attack Speed
The highest DPS 2-handed mace that you can find is going to be best for this build. So make sure that you have high Increased Physical Damage as your main priority. Any Mace without this will not be viable.
Off Hand 1. Increased Block Chance
2. Maximum Life
3. Increased Armour
4. Resistances
5. Physical Damage Reduction
The shield can be used for a variety of ways to help tank up your character. Block Chance and Life are most important but beyond that it can be really useful to fill out Resistances or boost Physical Damage Reduction.
Helm1. Maximum Life
2. Armour
3. Strength
4. Resistances
Armor is going to be the same for all main pieces, looking to find more Life, Stats, Resistances, and Armour. Remember by Maps you will want Resistances maxed or near maxed out!
Body Armour1. Maximum Life
2. Armour
3. Strength
4. Resistances
Armor is going to be the same for all main pieces, looking to find more Life, Stats, Resistances, and Armour. Remember by Maps you will want Resistances maxed or near maxed out!
Gloves1. Attack Speed
2. Maximum Life
3. Added Damage
4. Strength
5. Armour
6. Resistances
Armor is going to be the same for all main pieces, looking to find more Life, Stats, Resistances, and Armour. Remember by Maps you will want Resistances maxed or near maxed out! Gloves can have some added Damage to boost your DPS a little bit.
Boots1. Movement Speed
2. Maximum Life
3. Strength
4. Armour
5. Resistances
Boots are going to be the same as other pieces of armor but Movement Speed is extremely important for mobility purposes so always focus that first, followed by more Life, Resistances, and Strength.
Rings1. Added Damage
2. Maximum Life
3. Stats
4. Resistances
A place for lots of Life, Stats, and Resistances. Rings do have the ability to also add some flat damage which can be useful so be on the lookout for that.,
Amulet1. Maximum Life
2. Increased % Maximum Life
3. + to Level of Melee Skills
4. Stats
5. Resistances
Similar to Rings, though can also be a place to gain more Spirit or Increased Maxmium Life %. Though Again, another place to make sure your Resistances are capped.
Belt1. Maximum Life
2. Resistances
3. Stats
A great slot to really stack up Resistances and help cap them while gaining a nice Life Boost.

Jewels

The beneficial affixes for Jewels are listed below, ranked in order of importance. There are many affixes that can be beneficial beyond the ones listed below including Increased Bleeding Duration, Increased Life Regeneration Rate, and more. Try to prioritize rare Jewels with two prefixes and two suffixes.

  • Best Prefixes:
    1. Increased Melee Damage
    2. Chance to Inflict Bleeding on Hit
    3. Increased Magnitude of Bleeding You Inflict
  • Best Suffixes:
    1. Gain Rage when Hit by an Enemy
    2. Gain Rage on Melee Hit
    3. Increased Chance to Inflict Ailments

Venom Draughts

The two Draughts to take on this build are:

Act 3 – Grants 30% Increased Elemental Ailment Threshold

Act 3 (Cruel) – Grants 10% to Chaos Resistance

If you are struggling with Mana, the increased Mana Regeneration Rate is a viable option as well, but Chaos Resistance is difficult to come by so this should be first priority.

Flasks and Charms

Stone Charm – Warrior will be in the middle of the action and can be immobilized so a Stone Charm can be beneficial to prevent. Thawing Charm can also be useful.

Life/Mana Flasks – Increased Amount Recovered is generally the best for this build, however other options can work as well including Instant Recovery if feeling like you are getting taken down too quickly.
