Ever since the announcement of the new patch and upcoming league, one of the most frequently asked questions has been what happens to existing Path of Exile 2 characters and items. With Dawn of the Hunt launching on April 4, here is the good news: nothing is being wiped.

GGG has confirmed that all your characters, stash tabs, and progress will remain untouched. You can continue playing in your current league with full access to all the new content!

However, you should expect your Passive Tree to be reset, and due to all the balance changes, your build might also feel a bit different. If you enjoy changing or rebuilding characters, this is a good time to revisit your setup.

For those who want to start fresh, new leagues with clean economies will launch alongside the update. To join one, just select the “Dawn of the Hunt” league banner when creating a character. Leagues are often the preferred choice for players who want a full reset and a fresh trading environment.

If you own any stash tabs, they will carry over into the new league, but the tabs will be empty. That is because fresh leagues start with separate inventories and progression, keeping the economy clean.

As for cosmetics, no new Supporter Packs are launching with Dawn of the Hunt, but GGG did confirm that a new mystery box and themed microtransactions will arrive during launch weekend; some of them are tied to the Huntress theme.

In the meantime, the Paladin and Penance Supporter Packs are now available to purchase in PoE2 if you want to pick them up before new options drop.

In any case, no matter if you stick with your old characters or want to roll a new one, you will get access to all Dawn of the Hunt content either way.
