Grinding Gear Games has clarified how Map Portals will work in Path of Exile 2: Dawn of the Hunt, following community concerns raised during the livestream Q&A.
In the latest update, they confirmed that you will now be able to enter and exit Maps as much as you want until you die. Portal counts now represent your remaining revives, not how many times you can leave or re-enter. This fixes issues where players felt limited when trying to stash loot or trade mid-map.
If you do die, you will now respawn at the last checkpoint, even if you did not place a portal; no more long backtracking through empty zones. Yay!
GGG is also working on another change: if you have any revives left, you will instantly respawn at the checkpoint without loading screens. This update is supposed to go live with the big patch for Dawn of the Hunt or shortly after.
The developers have more Q&A follow-ups on the way, so keep an eye on our news page. We will cover any new updates as they come.
