GhazzyTV's Dominating Blow Champion Gear, Jewels & Flasks (PoE Secrets of the Atlas)
Mercenary
With 3.26, mercenaries were introduced into the game. They change a few things for every build, and there’s a wide variety of ways to utilise them. IMO, the only strong option we have is the Swiftblade. This does two important things, one, it carries Pride aura for us, and secondly, it carries
Rallying Cry.
Rallying Cry is a very strong buff when it is supported by a big physical weapon. By this, I do not mean a weapon with a high DPS, but a weapon with a large roll range. Items such as
Breathstealer and
Cowl of the Thermophile can be utilised to anoint warcry nodes to help maintain the buff.
The rest of the mercenaries’ gear slots are entirely up to you. Capping resistances would be my suggestion, but you can try whatever you want here.
See this pob for an example Merc setup: https://pobb.in/RwH9gEjcSOqh
Summary – TL;DR
Cap your Elemental Resistances and get the attributes your gems require to make sure you can use them all. Most pieces should be Rare with Life and, of course, any lacking attributes/resistances.
My quick list recommended approach for this build would then be:
Item Slot | Item Name | Rarity | |
Head | Armour/Evasion base | with +2 and life, resistances preferable | Rare |
Amulet | ![]() ![]() |
Unique | |
Chest | Armour/Evasion base | Life and Phys mit | Rare |
Gloves | ![]() |
4 Red Sockets | Unique |
Boots | Armour/Eva base | MS, life and resistances | Rare |
Belt | ![]() |
Unique | |
Ring | ![]() |
Life then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Ring | ![]() |
Life then Res/Attributes as needed | Rare |
Weapon | ![]() |
Rare | |
Shield | ![]() |

The gear
Helmet
Ideally we’re looking for a Armour/Evasion base here.
Prioritise stats as follows:
1: +2 to Level of All Minion Gems
2: High Life total, preferably 110+
3. Attributes as required
4: Resistance is very welcome if possible.
Body Armour
Armour/Evasion base preferred again.
Prioritise affixes as follows:
1: High life.
2: Additional Physical Damage Reduction
3: #% Armour/Evasion
Gloves
Triad Grip is our only choice here. We want 4R to fully convert to fire.
Boots
High armour base, Titan Greaves or better, with Elder influence.
We’re looking for +1 level of Raise Spectre gems, life, movement speed and resistances.
Belt
Darkness Enthroned with a 75% roll is your ideal candidate here. A higher roll is, of course, better. They tend to be way out of budget, however.
Accessories
Amulet
The Jinxed Juju is our go to low budget reccomendation. It gives us attributes, a decent danage shift to spectres and chaos resistance
Replica Dragonfang's Flight with +3 to level of
Dominating Blow gems is the better amulet choice, but it’s price is volatile. If it is cheap, I reccomend you get one.
High rolls are obviously better, but try to get at least 8%.
The anoint you want is Death Attunement. 1x Clear Oil, 1x
Crimson Oil and 1x
Silver Oil
Rings
For our ring slots, we’ll be doing 2x
Bone Ring to access minion modifiers.
Prioritise affixes as follows:
1: Life
2: Minion Attack Speed
3:Chaos Resistance
4: Attributes
5: If you can balance attributes, get a -7 mana cost craft here.
Weapon
We’re going with an Imperial Claw. These things are incredibly easy to make yourself. You spam essence of fear on a gemini claw, until you hit attack speed. Then you craft trigger.
If a fractured high attack speed(27%) Imperial Claw is cheap, get one of those and spam a higher tier essence on it. It should not take very many before you hit a t1 +max essence. Then craft trigger and GG.
Shield
Redblade Banner Is the cornerstone of the build and the reason it works as well as it does. You cannot replace this shield, ever.
Jewels
Every single jewel in Low Budget is a Ghastly Eye Jewel.
We need them all to have life modifiers. Ideally, we also want them all to have 20% increased minion damage if you’ve used a minion skill recently, but settling for 16-19% is more than fine early on.
Stats like Attack Speed, flat phys and the like are very valuable, but tend to increase the price of the jewels drastically.
Taunt and blind are not important in this build, as we are intentionally taunting everything off the minions for a change.
Flasks
Flasks are very flexible and always to some extent a matter of personal preference. I’ll outline my suggestions below, and unless you’re very experienced and have a good reason to deviate, I’d suggest you try this setup first.
Slot | Flask | Description |
1 | Masochist or Flagellant ![]() |
Preferably 50%, but take what you get early on and upgrade later. |
2 | Masochist of Flaggelant #![]() |
Preferably 50%, but take what you get early on and upgrade later. |
3 | Masochist of Flaggelant #![]() |
Get whatever suffix you prefer here, as all elementals are covered by ![]() |
4 | Masochist of Flaggelant ![]() |
With #% Armour |
5 | Effervescent or Bubbling ![]() |
Removing bleed and CB is the best thing this flask can do for us |
Flask suffixes can be moved around; you do not need to have the same suffix on the basalt flask as we do, for instance.
The 5th flask can be replaced with an amethyst if you’re struggling with chaos resistance. Just make sure it has a Maschosist or Flaggelant prefix.
